“Proper technique is essential and should be practiced until
it becomes automatic. With proper technique, the athlete can focus on
the other aspects of a competitive atmosphere,” - D'Orazio
BIO
Despite coming from the small Division III school like Otterbein College, Coach Matt D’Orazio made himself an Arena Football League legend through a strong work ethic and a focus on his fundamentals and technique. After transferring from Youngstown State, D’Orazio set single-season and career records at Otterbein. To name a few were his passing yards, touchdown passes and total offense with his 8,770 yards and 73 TDs through the air and his 594 yards and five TDs on the ground.
After college, D’Orazio went to the Arena Football League where he played with eight teams from 1998-2008. He led the Chicago Rush to the 2006 Arena Bowl XX title with a 250-yard, 6-TD, MVP performance. In 2008 with the Philadelphia Soul, he was voted the AFL regular season MVP and led the Soul to the Arena Bowl XXII title. Again D’Orazio was named the MVP, becoming the only AFL player to ever be named MVP of the Arena Bowl with two different teams. In 2009, he signed with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League. Since his playing days, he has worked with OhioCollegeFootball.com as the Senior Bowl South Team head coach and he has worked with and trained aspiring young quarterbacks.

THE creation
After training QB’s from middle school to NFL for the last 15 years and seeing how crucial proper technique is to have success, I created the Spin City Trainer. One common mistake that most QB’s make is that they don’t have a plan with their off arm when they throw. It flies up, out, back, etc. The Spin City Trainer allows the QB to use muscle memory to develop proper technique and maximize each throw with accuracy and velocity. Using Spin City Trainer as a practice training device will allow game time situations to come naturally and let the QB play and not think about mechanics.
